I chose to go with putting the running gear on the 68 frame. Not sure if that was the right way to go or not!?!?! Had to fab mounts for Engine, Trans etc. I just felt that was less of an evil (for me) than trying to get body panels to line up and work. I read a bunch before taking the plunge and for my abilities I felt this was better for me. After reading powerwagoncrazy's reply I may have been better off doing what he did. Oh well...........It's going to work out and be a one of a kind where I live.....the ol' gal is a head turner !!!

I think either way works- at 20 I didn't really have the knowledge or skills to build mounts, so I blindly fumbled through doing the frame stretch out in the yard with a stick welder. I borrowed a laser level from work to setup the height of the different body mounts so that part was pretty straightforward. It's been nearly 10 years and it hasn't disintegrated across the highway as of yet so I consider myself to be "in the clear" LOL.

I retained the original frame on my '67 single cab w200 for it's 12 valve swap and feel it will turn out every bit as well as my crew when all is said and done. I've purchased a few wrecking yard steering boxes based on internet research to facilitate the installation of power crossover steering (including a '99 ram 1500 box and a chevy saginaw box), and feel that based on my truck's current setup (with the PTO winch driveshaft running through) that following cageman's lead with the chevy box will inevitably be the route best suited for my project.

This is my Dodge Truck posting partly to see how to upload photos. Not a daily driver, getting ready to start working towards getting her back on the road. she needs quite a bit of work. Hopefully with some guidance i can make her road worthy.

Here's a picture of my crew. Bought and sold it a couple of years ago, and just recently bought it back. It's getting ready to get stretched on to a long bed. This was a cool picture I snapped before I took the bed off.
