new wall decorations

Post by rd200 »

just made it back from the wrecking yard and found this baby. A 1964 chrome grill, since it would not fit on my truck thought it would add a nice touch to the office. Still in great shape 45 years later....

Now you need an artist to come paint the wall to make it look like the truck is coming through the wall or something. :thinking

Better yet, you could make it using styrofoam sculpture techniques.

I think your wall would look better with a black velvet painting of a bunch of dogs playing poker, and that grille would look GREAT on my D300.
Just my interior decorating opinion, you know.

I just finished harvesting the 64 d200 from the bone yard. I wlll be adding in the wall the two metal side panels with the headlights and blinkers. I am also going to cut off of an old hood the first six inches or so and mount that above the grill and then will see if my spare front bumper can be mounted to the wood walls. It will look like the front of the truck comming out of the wall.

Almost complete, Was able to slice off about a 4 inch piece of front hood. also had some spare 64 plastic lights put on. I want to add add a 12 volt light that will flash the turn signals every few seconds or so.

Still thinking about adding a thin radiator and how to mount the bumper in front.

Find some rusty fenders and cut of the front to hang on your wall too. That would be way cool.

That's great. Your truck looks better than my truck and your wall looks better than my wall, and my truck

That's pretty cool! You might try painting an old a/c radiator black, it wouldn't look exactly like a radiator but they are pretty thin and aluminum is light.

Awesome wall mount! I love it. Here's my garage. I still need a pie plate grille though.
