67 POWER WAGON SHORT WIDE-PROGRESS

OK, its been a long time since I have posted but I get little to nothing done paint-wise in the winter. And since for osme reason I cannot search the site, as I am told by a generic post, I have decided to post a new thread about the truck. I am painting this 67 Power wagon short wide, 8 lug and have changed the front clip from a 67, to a 63 because of damage. I still need a hood if anyone close has a nice one.

Last summer I disassembled the entire truck, swapped out rhe sheet metal and started it. The grille, and fenders and inner fenders were painted last summer. Now I ma working on getting the cab, interio and engine bay all painted as well. Its not going to be a show truck, just a driver ad repaint.

Q5 turquoise metallic, the same as my 67 Dart 340-6 car. Well here are a few pics. Its vented, so I am heading out to work on a coke machine and install brake lines into the dart. I may shoot the top coat primer surfacer tomorrow. Its only Omni, so nothing speacial.

more, wish I still have the website.

This is where the filler neck used to be. I am now going with a Rancharger gas tank and assembly.

another again

Also, the area not painted is going to be done in herculiner or one of those surfaces and will cross over into the paint. This truck is for working in.

Well, here are a few more pics. I shot the cab, inside of the cab, fire wall and cleared the same. I also will have to tape and then paint the upper portion of the cab but its cold again this weekend, so I messed with fabricating in the gas tank door to the rear of the bed and did the mock up install of the rancharger gas tank and filler tube. L

I have to search out the FUEL door bezel, which is a 70 challenger type. I used some sheet metal and gas cap, FLIP TOP type from a 70 chaleneger for the filler door, you like. It will look much better when the bezel is installed.

I had to place the 63 short bed onto the truck to mock up the gas tank, filler tube and new sheet metal on the bed for the challenger filler door and flip top gas door.

The bed will come righ back off and the truck will be finished cab wise, then the truck will be removed, so that I can do the bed, radiator support and a few other parts.

It WILL look better when the bezel is in and fills that area up.

I JUST NEED TO hit the parts shed and SEARCH for it.

One more. The areas that are not painted, IE the steps, rear of interior, ect, all will be covered in bed liner for durability.

Nice work Dave. You know where I stand on your shop. Now I got one but not quite as set up as yours. No painting area. But it will be completely functional much like yours. Buying a Max Jack mid lift portable by Dunmarr. And you should see what is inside already....1940 Ford V8 Delux Coupe..has a Chevy 350 but that will go and a 1932 Ford Pick Up in parts...Brother Jon might take an interest. But both are for sale....cr8crshr/Bill

There's a hood in Nampa at the Jalopy Jungle. I didn't look it over really, but there's a 67 there (Was in a rush and looking for Saturn parts at the time, sorry.) Let me know if you need any help with it.

I need to see some hoods with hoodscoops. My hood has a hole in it. Thought I would see what they look like and maybe just use this hood for now with a scoop on it???

Dave

I just finished several small gas pump and coke machine projects and am heading out today to work on this rig. cant wait to get the bed into paint.

I like the color also and may use that on the 68, what color sealer did you use?
