I've been a fan of the slant six for a very very long time. Sure they aren't as Glamorous as a big Hemi or have the panosh or flair of a well polished 440, but they occupy a niche in Mopar history and here is my effort to pay homage to this humble little engine that could. Besides, try driving a 440 fifty or sixty miles with only a half a cup of oil and see where you end up.
Up first is just a clean basic 225:
And here's one with just a bit of chrome added:
A serious effort to add some power to the tilt:
This one is bizarre ... looks to be Turbo Propane or just Propane ... he did have two tanks in the trunk:
A real Turbo setup this time:
This one I am sure most of you have seen ... just GORGEOUS!!!
So there you have it ... if you have a Slant in your rig ... give it a salute !!!

Re: SLANT SIX PIX
All hail the power of the Slant Six! Great pictures-thanks! I was very hard on mine prior to starting the rebuild and it never gave me an ounce of trouble. I'm looking forward to driving a Slant Six powered Swepty again. Planning on doing a turbo slant this next summer.

Southern--
Thanks for the pix. I've got a /6 runnin' on sweet lady propane. Not quite on the road yet. It's an easy conversion. The propane truck looked like it had a turbo--that snailshell curly thang down there, but I didn't see if there was exhaust leading up to it. I'll have to take pix of mine now. I'm using an Impco mixer on top of a Carter BBD.
Keep up the good work,
Joe

Re: SLANT SIX PIX
With the Propane it is best to have your camshaft ground to suit and have your distributor recurved, neither of these are essential but will help with performance/econemy also you need to run gas to prevent your carby drying up usually on startup.
The other thing is that most older engines need hardened valve seats fitted due to the lack of lead in the fuel.
If you intend to run propane only it is best to remove your carby and replace with a propane butterfly setup.
Timing is different as are the spark plugs that you use.
Also if you deceide to use duel fuel it is a good idea to run an electric fuel pump as the standard ones do not like not being able to deliever fuel, and will eventually give up.
Hope this helps
