1963 Dodge W100 Town Wagon project.

Post by bluefury »

Some pictures of an on going project of mine. I have owned this truck for over 30 years now and killed it once. Am bring it slowly back. Actually I have stalled on it and haven't gotten anything done in over a year now. To many distractions..lol. But it's close and won't take much effort once i get motivated again.

Looking sweet! My Dad and I are restoring our 1964 D100 Town Panel and are going to convert it to four wheel drive with the 64 W200 parts truck that came with it. I hope ours turns out as nice as yours has so far! :Thumbsup :clap

That's quite a change from your first pic. It's looking great, and I love the paint scheme. Keep posting pics of your progress. We definitely want to see more of that truck.

Thanks Russ. The colors, (Bell green and Sunset yellow) are actual 63 colors and were pretty common, (well as common as W100 town wagons get), on these trucks. I remember looking at one way back in the 70's that was this combo and it stuck with me. I photographed a factory two tone in a salvage yard and used the pics to determine the color "cut" lines.

I might use the bell green on my crew. I just love green. I spraypainted this ford with rustoleum hunter green. I keep looking at other colors for the dodge, but keep coming back to green :Thumbsup

Not trying to hijack, just love the color! Please post more pics!

That's an awesome color combination! I wanted to get a TW but it wouldn't fit in my garage. Should have torn out the door and put a bigger one in.

The poly in blue is a stark contrast to the engine compartment, it looks way good. There's an old Town Wagon around the corner from me, I've just got to get the cahonees to go talk to the guy about it. I don't think my wife would be too happy about that though. :banghead

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm starting to feel motivated again...lol
These old Dodge trucks seem to take well to green, (and red). I liked the two tone version and concidered a lighter shade of green, or white as the second color but the yellow just kept jumping out at me. Most folks said i ws crazy until they saw it applied, then it was.... HUMmmmmm that looks pretty good....lol.
heres a couple more pic's.

Actually the paint is just sprayed and has not yet been sanded and buffed. I'll do all that once its all assembled. It is Dupont Centurian base/clear.
Sharp eyes..... the reflection is my 64 crew cab. If you go to the parts and trucks for sale thread here you can see some pics of it. I'm offering it for sale if anyone interested. Check it out.

Thank you. The hindges were bead blasted and then gloss clear powder coated. Powder coating has been used extensivly on the tw. Bumpers, wheels most all smaller brackets, inner fender aprins, brake backing plates, etc.
