I don't know what you are seeing, but that is clearly a 68.

I couldn't make out if it had the wipers meet in the middle of the windshield like a '68 does.

However, I did see that it has the name plate on the door just behind the mirror under the vent window. I "think" that it was Custom? OR something like that? Was that a nameplate they used in '68 or '69???

That wide, straight, side trim was NEVER used on a 69. The hood clearly is 3 sections, with the center lower than the sides and straight across on the lower edge - 1 yr only - 68. Fender emblem is 68 and earlier, not 69-71 style. Front bumper is 68 and earlier style, not 69-71. Dash is raised for the gauges, not straight across as in 69-71.

I think you mean '69. That trim is late 65-68.

This was on TV, as it was shown on PBS. The Iowa state fair truck and tractor pulls featured a Sweptline.
@ 38 seconds in the video.

The movie Back to Back aka American Yakuza features a 71 D200 that is pretty beat up and missing the grille. It looks to be a 383 w/ A/C. The main character drives it throughout the movie.

Pretty goofy looking West Coast mirror mounting.

BTW, I really do enjoy this thread. Thanks for the post!

Yeah... why would the mirror attach to the bottom of the vent window? Weird!

In movies, the mirrors are adjusted to not cause glare, or result in a camera or crew/equipment or other unwanted reflection. Seldom are they shown as you would see them normally. Been there, done that with six of my vehicles in film over the past ten years or so.

Saw a Swepty on "Call me Kat" tonite. The episode name is "Call me Skeeter Juice"

There is a dog food commercial as a part of the plot and in the commercial a guy gets out of a red Sweptline. I think it's a quad headlight truck, hard to tell from the angle.

This one must have been mentioned but I have to bring the race car haulers from Mongoose and the Sake movie back up. Very cool.
