Again, the A-Team...A brown and white 68 was used in a roadblock and got hit by a semi.

It Takes a Thief- The main character was driving a 61 for a while.

Emergency- Normally the main characters drive a 72 D300 but for one scene it showed a 70-71 D300. Sometimes it shows out their front windshield and the hood is that of a 61-68 truck.

Last night I was watching Fireball 500 and during one of the opening race scenes, as one of the cars goes around a turn the camera sweeps over the infield and I spotted a '66 100 or 200 with a camper in the bed, maybe it's a camper special. :thinking either way I thought it was cool. There was also a black D100 that looked like a '70 but it was too blurry to be sure of.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Priceline commercial with Shatner in the back of an A100 van that comes around a corner sideways with tires smoking to "kidnap" a customer. It was cool inside, too.

You guys have just got to see this video from the making of King Solomon’s Mines. I had to go sit in the cab of my nu-completed 68 W200 after I checked it out!

Not Swepts, but pure Dodge nun the less.

Scott,

That video was over-the-top cool! I loved watching them climbing over the lava bed. Funny how they emphasized the use of the 4wd, yet the 2wds walked right through, and in fact lead the pack. :Thumbsup Also funny how they refrigerated truck was for use of "important items" (I think that was the term they used) like film, water,.. and Coca Cola.

I found a cabover just like the one they show, only a few hours from me. I plan on stopping to see if it's for sale when I go by it next week while on "vacation". (It's in the back of a rural truck sales lot, so I'm hopeful) Love to make that into Dad's RV hauler. :Thumbsup

I think they were all 4x4 with the exception of the COE “Coke” truck. I love the lava bed scene too; especially the sound of those gear drive transfer cases!

A COE like that would be so cool. After seeing the film I’d have to paint it forest green!

Take care,

A movie called Peacemaker has a pieplate milk truck used in a short scene. It is stolen and used to run over a guy. Neither the truck or the guy were hurt. The guy was actually an alien with the ability to regenerate.

I was watching the Weather Channel this morning and they were talking to a man about the possibility of mudslides at Little Tujunga Canyon in California and in one shot there was a big ol flat bed Pie Plate. It was a dark color, maybe brown or dark maroon. It is funny how these trucks catch the eye.

Only the Power Wagons in that film have 4 wheel drive. that is why the scout car gets stuck in the river right away! lol it shows you that you can go quite a ways with a 2 wheel drive truck with low gears and fully loaded ;/) But it still takes Power Wagon to save the day and drag all the others whre they need to go. :salut

Kaegi,

You're right, the other trucks are not 4x4. I stand corrected! :goodpost

Isn't that a neat clip?

It is indeed and excellent film. I like how they said therepair bill after 7 months in that environment was less than 300 bucks! even back then that was a low number for the kind of abuse those rigs were going thru. :Thumbsup

Watchin DVDs at home last few days, saw a few sweptys in Speedway staring Elvis and Nancy Sinatra, then watched Duel and the school bus Dennis Weaver tries to push start with his Valiant is a 4 eye. Then watching a documentary on F105's in Nam', and theres lots of airforce sweptlines, with the roofs painted white (cos of the heat I guess). As they are filming a drive by of a line of Thuds, you can see the 3 hole mirror stalk with the mirror removed of the camera truck. :dance

Don't know if its already been posted but last night I caught eye of a swepty flatbed on a 80's movie called "Vision Quest". Its about a High school wrestler going for the prize, there is a point where he takes a trip to see his Grandpa and he makes the voyage in a beat up ole 4 eyed flatbed DODGE.

Saw an ad last night for one of those sugar substitutes. A guy was sitting on the tailgate of a truck and from the taillight it was obviously a sweptline
