Here's some pics of "Gonzo" my 68 W-200 after getting a complete front end rebuild and a Rustoleum roller paint job.It will never be a show truck but I couldn't be happier with it,and I would like to thank all the members who gave tech advice and helped me find parts.A special thanks to cudajimmy for setting me up with this truck.

Hey that is nice, that is the color my truck originally was when I bought it. Did they mix that paint for you, I was unawhere they made that color. I want to paint my other 70 w that color, to make it look like my 70 when I first got it, and this roller stuff intrigues me, especially if i can get the color I want. :usa Looks really good.

Joe. I'm gonna tell you something. That is the BEST swept I've ever owned. I miss that truck more than any other truck I've ever owned. It was a true pleasure to drive. I see now it couldn't have gone to a better home.....

Even looking like that it still manages to out class those newer cars. :Thumbsup

I dare someone to define 'show quality'... that's a darn fine looking truck that wouldn't hang its head in shame at any car show.

That looks really good. That roller job looks like it shines pretty well. One of my favorite colors combo's too.

Dang!... what a transformation! Your truck looks
excellent. That'll turn heads wherever you drive
it. There's a Sweptline fanatic in Charlton, MA who
would appreciate your truck as he had a '68 W200
up until recently [when it was given to his nephew].
I own a '68 W200 too and think they're the coolest
of 'em all :Thumbsup Job well done man!!!!

BEAUTIFUL!!!

That thing looks magnificent! Did you have to beat on any panels to get it that straight?

Looks so good I'm inspired to get the RV pad cleared of the other crap so I can finally get mine home and get started on it. But then again, with my new job it's not like I have alot of spare time right now. :pale

In your front end rebuild do you get new front springs? If so where? Also, what size wheel/tire combo are you using?

We want to take the 4 inch lift off of ours. The rear is blocked, but the front is a spring lift.

Thanks to all for the kind words it is really makes this website so special.Jimmy, thanks for posting those before/before pictures it was a kick seeing them again.Cageman the paint is Rustoleum professional enamal masstone base mixed to their stock turquoise color, then I added 1 qt Rustoleum gloss white,1oz tube thalo gr,1oz tube dark green and a 1 oz tube medium yellow. These are the tubes of tints- all you can get at any paint store. The stock turquoise color was nice but darker and bluer than the original Desert Turquoise.OregonDodgeboy, yes I had to beat on some panels, that was the best part I was using a 3lb hammer a real hammer for a real truck. I also had to put 3/8" aluminum shims under the rear hood hinge mounts to get it to look decent closed,a trick learned from this website. The rear bumper is a mid 80's aftermarket unit that I had to fabricate brackets for,the bumper was $30 at the boneyard with the license plate lights and harness.Veriwide,I didn't have to do anything with the front springs they were in great shape,I did the steering knuckle/king pin bearings and races, axle u-joints,wheel bearings and seal, steering arm and rebuilt the warn hubs. The results are amazing,I can steer this truck at low speeds with hardly any effort at all.The wheels are late 80's ford stock 16x7 steel wheels(all four $70.00 and easily replacable)the tires are Uniroyal 235-16-85 which were very close in diameter to the 750-16s that these trucks came with.Again thanks to all and Happy New Year from the proud owner of "Gonzo" the beast in the east,Joe :salut :usa

Hmm, that is a crazy combo of paint ingredients, I hope they make me centari type paint when I do my truck someday.
Again, it looks really nice.
