Hey guys,
I have been on the site for quite a while and have been looking for a Sweptline for a while. Well, on Friday I drove to Saskatoon, Sask. and picked up a 1971 Sweptline Custom. I had to pull it out of a farmers field but it is in decent shape for the year.
Originally a 318 car it now has a Super Six with 3-speed on the column. Tailgate is rusty, needs a floor patch on drivers side, and the drivers side cowl needs fixing. Other than that it is pretty straight. It came with a new hood and a new passenger door that is rusted. The current hood is pretty dented up so it's a good thing the new one came with it. I look forward to the resto-mod of the truck and getting some good tips on here. Thanks!

You found that in a farmer's field? Not bad!

Ya..It was in a Farmers Field....pretty crazy...I would say the overall condition is pretty good and like I mentioned only a couple bad rust spots (Drivers floor, cowl on drivers side, passenger door) but came with a new hood and passenger door...I agree, the wheels do suit the style of truck very well.

Hey! That's exactly what I did as well!
I found a 1969 Sweptline in a farmer's yard, advertised for parts on Kijiji.ca
I drove out from New Brunswick to get it, but lucked out as it cost me only $200!!
Mine is a 6 cylinder/auto truck...soon to get a 383.
Here's a pic of mine after unloading it off the trailer!
