Everything is fair for customizing! I can't recall anyone posting about mods to the dome light. The most common is the rare and much sought after chrome bezeled dome light. Mine is still very plain plastic lensed and non-functional :joker
It worked 20 yrs ago; dunno what happened

Did they make a chrome bezel dome light for a Swept? If so, I want one, LOL. Anyone got a pic? I'd like to see what they look like.
The 5th Ave dome light is square and bigger than the original Swept light. I don't think it will fit without some work.

Voilla!
Chrome is pretty much gone, but you get the picture.

Auction ended at $49.99

Interesting, but after looking at my truck, I'm not sure that would work in a Sweptline. It looks like the raised area where the dome light mounts is shaped to match the oval lense, and that one is square. Even if it would fit, I don't think I'd want to pay $49.99 for it in that condition.
Spike, you might try putting a post for a good lense in the parts wanted section of this forum.
