my truck died

ok when i moved to nc last year i unfortantley had to keep my 68 d100 at a freinds house. so its been sitting for about a year now and before i moved i could switch the key and every thing would come on. even the raideo! when i went back to check on my good old truck and to get my road runner siting next to it evey thing is dead. i cant get anything to work on it. i should be going to get my truck here in the next mounth. to exame this ferther any body have any idie tho?

I would make the guess that you tried Jumping
it and that it will not even turn over or fire ...... ????
6 months or a year can be long enough for the battery to drain down.

Not even a "click" noise?
What kind of shape are your cables in?
and did you try useing a screw driver to
jump start it at the relay?
Should have gotten something with a new battery
but even they have a shelf life.
BE sure to check your gorunding points> battery to
engine> engine too fire wall.

well when i oped my hood for the first time in 9 mounth the was a rat nest in the air cleaner but i cant find any chewed wires. but that still might have something to do with it

Start with the basics, follow the hot wire from the battery to the relay on the drivers side fender, then to the starter, those rats may have liked the taste of the plastic coating on the wire's

Check the usual suspects; rat-chewed wires...
Also, look for corrosion at the fuse-box (between the contacts and the fuses). I've seen this happen when they sit for a long time with a battery slowly dying.
