Electrical Problems...Of Course!
Electrical Problems...Of Course!
After I installed a replacement/used harness, I have troubles. I need to know why the Amp gauge doesn't show the battery charging. I also had the fuse blow on the tail lights. I want to connect the Bat. terminal on the alternator directly to the amp gauge. Which side should it be attached to?

Does not really mater which side the battery is on
the alt gauge, just as long as the alt and rest of the stuff is on the other side. Stock is battery wire to
the driver side of the gauge.
Have you checked the alt fuse? it is also in the fuse block.

Dude, you are gonna spend more money than it's worth by working with used wiring. BTDT!!!
For $165, you can have this: http://www.ezwiring.com/twentyone.htm
They produce a few other kinds of kits, just go to the main page at http://www.ezwiring.com if you want to see what else they have.
The quality is top notch. Several people I know have redone the wiring in their IH's with this kit, and I can attest that it is highly comparable to the higher end ones you could buy. I've seen these kits first hand. Absolutely beautiful. For the money it cannot be beaten IMHO.
