I was redoing the electrical wiring on my dash board the other day and found the ammeter contacts had melted the front plastic side of the meter. I used my parts truck to replace the ammeter but in the meantime I thought about what caused this over a period of time and found a very good article about the ammeter guages dodge used for so many years.
