Melted ammeter

Post by Otterdodge »

I was redoing the electrical wiring on my dash board the other day and found the ammeter contacts had melted the front plastic side of the meter. I used my parts truck to replace the ammeter but in the meantime I thought about what caused this over a period of time and found a very good article about the ammeter guages dodge used for so many years. Heres the article:

redline gauge works can convert your AMP gauge to a Volt gauge for a $$$. small price to pay for an extra level of insurance to keep your truck from burning down.

read this month's Mopar Collector's Guide (not sure of the date but the one with the hottie on the front and the article about the pace car challenger)

I did the mod from that madelectrical article and am very pleased with the results. Charging system and cab power is MUCH better now.
