Riddle me this....
I drove my 67 D100 to work today, and was sitting behind a pickup at a stop light waiting to turn right, and I notice in the reflection from his tailgate, that BOTH my front signal lights were flashing. When I got to work, I looked in the window at it, and it indeed has BOTH sides flashing when on the right signal, but only the left works from the left signal.
.......anyone have any ideas?

i chased a simular problem once in an elcamino, turned out one of the bulbs, the filament had come loose inside it & was laying across the brighter side prongs. but it caused the system to back feed & light up the front parking lights when the brakes were applied. just a thought, i remember that well cause i tackled it with the entire tool box instead of the almighty KISS theory(keep it simple stupid).

actually cudajimmy, a few of the spots that is highly likely to create bare wires is 1. the hole in the radiator support 2. behind the radiator 3. close to the back of the fuse box 4. in the fuse box itself where all the volts pass through and start melting the plastic covering.

If not yet fixed, look at these...
If nothing else has worked, you might give this simple thing a try. My '64 W200 did the same thing when I first got it. Turned out it was in the wiring connections! The older pickups didn't have gang plugins that would only hookup one way. You'll find a green and yellow (if memory serves me) wire - and others - coming from the steering column (from turn switch) and leading to an under-dash bunch of connectors (from emergency flasher & headlamp switch). Make sure these track all the way out to your turn signals, mating to the same color - thru the firewall connections, etc., out to the turn lamps. Also, make sure the emergency flasher isn't corrupting the signal (unplug it from the rest to test) - bad flasher?

Bean, I don't think they carry the whole switch... all I have been able to find so far is the cam on the top side that holds the cancel rings (the main part that breaks), but that in itself is probably all you need. They are about $10 on the HELP! line at any of the stores that carry it. I can track down the part number this evening when I get home...
Thanks, Clint
