Ballast resister
Ok, Ive checked all the pos wires in the engine compartment with a circut checker and every thing has power going to it. So the problem is under the dash or ballast reister. What does it look like when it is blown? The coil looks ok but the porcelin that it is wraped around is cracked.

Ive changed the ignition switch also. On the back side of is marked GRD, ACC, ST,IGN2,IGN1, Should the BAT have power running through it? Also the red & black wires coming from the 4way junction on the inside firewall do have power going through them. Ive changed the starter relay, ignition switch, ballist resistor and used a circuit tester. What else is there?

2morrow is the last nice day b4 winter. Id like to get this done as I dont have a garage. It looks as though both the red and black wire at the firewall junction, travel to the volt gauge and the power gets distributed from there. That metal bar that joins the volt & fuel gauge, is it pos or neg? The next place to distribute power would be the ignition switch.

ballist resistor
Do you have electronic ignition? if so then it may be the magnetic pickup in the distributor
