1967 D100 Turn Signal Switch Cancelling Cam

I installed a new cancelling cam a while back and it has already broken. After about 100 miles.

The old one had some grease under it. I wiped it off a bit but I didn't intensively clean it or add any new grease.

And I'm not sure about the "tension" from the little spring clip thingy that holds the switch down. Maybe it was too tight?

I've read the service manual and I didn't see any guidance on either topic.

Do y'all have any words of wisdom to add here before I install another one?

I don't remember what brand I used but I have installed a new one again.

And I observed behavior before I removed the old one and it did seem really sticky like I had pressed the spring clip on too tight. The one that holds the cancelling cam onto the switch base.

I used finesse this time and tried to avoid overpressing the spring clip. Now it works effortlessly and correctly.

Off to decide where to spend my time and money next... 😵💫
