Headlights/front running lights/signals not working

Post by MattWilliams »

Hello everyone! I couldn’t find a thread for this specific issue. Any help would be much appreciated.
Took the front bumper and grill off my 66’ dodge d100 step side for paint. Painted it then put everything back on, plugged it all in where i unplugged upon removal and none of the front lights work. Everything in the Rear works great - brake lights running lights blinkers - all in the rear are fine.
Checked the fused visually AND with a voltage meter - all good. I’m thinking a ground somewhere? Weird part is that I put everything back just how it was supposed to.
Any thoughts?? Thanks!

Test light/meter will confirm power present as you said. How about the re attached grounds. Are they functioning properly.

Ground wires and components attached to newly painted surfaces don't always make contact with the metal under the paint. Same problem if you got paint inside a bullet connector.

Your issue is the ground connection. It is the only thing in common.
