Tail light housing '63 D100

Post by Volksnut »

Does it remove from the fender, twist or pry out or is it riveted to the fender, removed the 3 screws and nothing.

The light housings are held in with a spring clamp. see pictures:

I broke mine while removing them and replaced the housings with some trailer lights.

You can see the install here:

Thanks for the picture.
So now with 20/20 hindsight is it possible to remove these light assemblies and keep them intact?

If so how to do it.

Thanks in advance!

WIthout getting access to the backside, I don't know of a good way to remove them with out breaking the spring clips.

We drilled out the 6 rivets that hold the spring clamps then removed the housings. We will rivet them back on prior to reinstalling them.

Can you post a picture of the lights you used and manufacturer and part number? My housings need sockets and lenses and trailer lights might be better?
