cab air vent control cable attach

Post by jeffwest »

I must be geometrically dyslexic or I am missing a part.

Attaching the control cable to the air vents. All I have is the three tab setup on the arm ( made during manufacture by cutting and bending a piece of the original flat metal)

I THOUGHT I remembered when taking it apart that it attached by removing the cable sheath clamp and rotating it in a certain (Jedi-like) manner. I clearly cannot figure out how to reverse the procedure. That was 2012 and my memory is not as good as I thought it was then.

Can someone point me to a previous post or otherwise clue me in?

Thanks in advance.

here is a one hooked up correctly. drivers side. they need lots of lubrication! I grease up the vent parts well and spray they heck out of the cable housing. the metal housing will let the lube seep in

Thanks for the images confirming I found the correct solution. I was hesitant to use a method that bent a metal tab to hold the cable end loop. It has a finite number of times you can re-attach the cable.
