turn signals not working right

Post by LiquiDGD »

I have a early 65 swept line with the double headlights. I noticed I had a signal lamp out and replaced the bulb on that side. I realized at that point there was nothing wrong with the bulb. The truck, all of a sudden, now flashes both sides for either right or left hand turn like hazard lights. I have since checked both grounds and cleaned connection points for the signal lamp grounds. Rear lamps work fine. Any help would be appreciated. I don't know what to look at next and will be hanging my arm out the window so signal for a bit... thanks for the help in advance!

If this is still another ground im gonna scream lol.

i would test one leg at a time at each connector location - more than around or at your turn signal switch.

I have an early '65 that had the same problem. I added a ground wire from each turn signal housing to radiator support. No luck, but found that bulb socket is crimped onto housing that had some corrosion causing high grounding resistance. Fixed problem. Use dielectric grease on ALL connections.
