So,
I have headlights, front running lights, brake lights, turn signals F/R and reverse lights. I do NOT have tail lights or corner marker lights. Any thoughts?

Have you checked bulbs or if power to tail light assemblies when park lights/headlights are on???

Bad connection or bad ground. Check for power at the firewall and again at the back. Look at the wiring diagram and see where it is split, then start checking.

Don't forget to check the ground straps on either side between the bed and cab.

If there are sigs, brake and reverse lights, then ground is good!

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention I do not have power at the firewall plug. When I turn on the key, I have a keyed power leak (possibly for camper power) but not one for the running lights. By the way, this is after I pulled off the firewall plug. This rules out problems at the rear of the truck. I think the real issue is, my uncle did some splicing over the years he had the truck and though I've had to repair some of them, there may be more that are likely to fail.

On a similar note, how do you get the knob off of the headlight switch? I wanted to pull the switch to make it easier to check power but can't get the knob off.

Knob doesn't come off. The entire shaft, with the knob, comes out of the switch by pressing a release button on the switch. The button is small and somewhat difficult to access. Often they are somewhat jammed and its a fight to get it out. Maybe someone can post a pic, or google is your friend.

If you pull the switch to the on position and look directly behind you will see an orientation tab aligned with the notch in the metal dash. This gives you an idea of how the switch is mounted. Use this knowledge in conjunction with what the switch looks like and it should simplify your removal. The button you can see in the bottom view has a spring.
