Restored switches - question on 2 things (so far)

Post by wally426ci »

My buddy Jim is in the middle of restoring some truck switches that I sent him.

He had a couple of questions. I have an NOS switch to reference for the finish but I thought maybe someone could confirm.

Here are a couple of questions I have for you:

1. Can you tell me what color back fill the letter L is supposed to be on the knob? I know they are dirty as can be, but it sure doesn't look like they were ever a bright white. To me it looks like a light gray.

2. The switch in the front middle on the picture is just a pull out - push off. I can not see a mopar part number on it. The only thing I can find as a marking is COLE, Boston, Made In USA. Could that be an aftermaket switch installed somewhere along the way? Not sure what the function of that would be either?

Hey Bud, is that an aftermarket? I believe this came out of a 64 D400 - with no chrysler markings I was wondering....

Thanks man!

No they were factory installed. But they did not have the same knob as the other switches.

Seems that my 68 had White letters on the knobs but it's been a decade since I sold it.

The cool trucks had the same knobs, but they were white with black letters.
