Hello, 68 w200 with a steering column out of a van or rv or something. Taillights, blinkers, and hazards work but no brake lights. Pedal switch good, took apart steering wheel and turn switch, don't see the problem. Any insight?

Looks like brass contact buttons are worn down and not making contact with W-shaped wire. Gonna jump them and see what happens.

I jumped the w-shaped wire to the brass contact buttons and got the brake lights to work! At least now I know I just need a new blinker switch assembly. Couldn't have done it without the wiring diagrams and other threads on this forum, thanks!

I'm not sure if this is proper or not but i will add my problem of no brake lights to this thread. 1968 D200. Everything was working fine then I realize I have no brake or tail lights, everything in front is working. I opened the dash panel to check wiring and i find three wires that are not attached to anything. Can anyone identify where these wires should go and does the lack of continuity of having them unplugged cause this problem? The wires are orange, dark blue and light green and they all have rubber boot plugs on them. I seem to have power at the brake switch and up through the column to the turn signal cam.
Thank you

I would venture to say since you have after market gauges, the orange, (Temp sending unit), dark blue, ( 5 volt power to temp gauge) and light green, ( right turn signal), yellow, (left turn signal). The black wire in the right turn signal spot is probably instrument lamp.
Send picture of front side gauges, id like to see what fits.
The brake lights not working can be a number of possibilities. bad grounds cab to bed or lamp housing, lamps out, fuse, brake pedal switch, turn signal switch, cut wiring, bulk head connector.

These are the gauges above. I have blinkers in the rear so i must have a good wiring to the rear, new bulbs, power to and through the brake pedal switch (power in at the red/white stripe wire, out at white wire). No power seems to run to the dark blue or orange wire that are not connected, the light green turns out to run to the cigar lighter. i still can't get brake lights or tail lights but when i hit the brake pedal my instrument lamps come on with the depression of the brake pedal. The turn signal switch has test light reading as follows:
White-no power
Red-flashes with either turn signal or solid in the neutral position
Yellow #1-comes on with the brake pedal
Yellow #2-comes on with the left turn signal
Dark green-comes on with left turn signal
light green-comes on with right turn signal
Black- comes on with the ignition

My 68 300 did that too. Hit brake pedal dash lights came on. Replaced turn signal switch, fixed problem.
