inoperable speedometer

Post by naloleal »

Help!

Had a friend meshing with wires in the dash, now the speedometer doesn't work. All the dash lights work, fuel gauge works, but no speed.

Is there a fuse for it besides the ones that are under the dash?

speedo is not electronic.
have a replacement if you need it. Check the cable first.

And what about my horn, it stopped working at the same time.

when I unplug the cable from the speedo and drive, the wire in the cable doesn't spin or move at all.

Is there a good place to get a wiring diagram for these?

he considers himself an expert on VERY little apparently, except for teaching me a lesson on who i have work on the truck!

After more reading, and finding a cable hanging by the transmission, looks like somehow the speedo cable come undone from the transmission.

does anyone have a picture of where it screws back in to the transmission, or a good description?

'67 d100 pickup (after doing research, found it wasn't a '66)

Just look and it will be apparent on where its attached to rear of trans. Transfer case if a W series.
