I dont have a manusl with me for trouble shooting. Anyone ever have the brake light (68 d100 dash) stay on even with ignition switch off?
I disconnected it for now and fluid level is good.

Pedal pressure is ok? The truck stops like it's supposed to?

It does, which is why I am confused..... wondering if this is a sign of the distribution block switch being bad?

Re: Dash brake pressure light (stuck on)
Wally, the wire routing goes like this. From the amp gauge (via splice), hot all the time, blue wire goes to low brake indicator lamp. The blue/white tracer goes to ignition switch for test lamp operation in start position only and onward to low brake pressure switch.
After the indicator lamp if there is a short, it will light the lamp. The low brake pressure switch grounds out the circuit to light the lamp if low on fluid or faulty. So if you pulled the wire off the low brake pressure switch and the lamp went out, you have a faulty low brake pressure switch or the switch is all rusted up inside the proportioning valve. I would start there.

Switch would be my guess too, if the brakes are working fine. I think they're like $7-$8 on RockAuto

Re: Dash brake pressure light (stuck on)
Thanks. I forgot to mention it does it with the key off as well (i noticed it when I got back in and it was lit)
The interesting part was that we pulled the wire off of the distribution block and it stayed on. I wonder if that points to the ignition switch? I replaced the key cylinder before carlisle. Maybe grease got somewhere it should not have?

Re: Dash brake pressure light (stuck on)
Try pulling the connector off the back of the ignition switch with the two blue wires on it. The back of the switch where it connects to should say "gnd". This connector is only for the low brake indicator light.

Thanks man! Pulled the firewall connection and reinserted and now it's out. Leaving it disconnected until I try it out a little
