your best bet is a pinless or wire works kit. i have installed a pianless system before, real nice kit, and simple to install if you got the time.

Looks like I'm going to go with a Painless fusebox. I've heard rumors about NOS bulkhead connectors, though. Anybody know about this?

Thanks for your help,

Joe

Joe, Welcome aboard. The rumor you heard was possibly true. NOS_bill claims to still have an NOS bulkhead connector for 70-82 trucks... runs $70, and this is just the connector... if you're interested or curious, here's the link... may be worth checking out if it's the right part.

Thanks, Clint.

What's on the site doesn't seem to match what's in my truck, but I sent them an e-mail anyways. I've got a painless fusebox now, and am just waiting to get up the gumption to switch it out.

Where have I been.... that's a few long stories. Reinstalling the new intake/carb several times do to improper sealing and other issues that I think I have mostly solved, though I still have a mystery oil leak I can't pin down, ... and something got screwed up on the carb today... it idles at 2500 RPM cause the top butterfly over the secondaries is held wide open by what I think is the electric choke mechanism. Went home this weekend for a family reunion, and the radiator on the Jeep split the tank halfway back home yesterday, so a 4 hour trip turned into a 14 hour trip and a trailer rental and an extra tank of gas... and no sleep before work. All of this, of course, has messed with my other hobbies I am starting to finally get set-up... experimenting with my woodworking ability. So I now have a workbench minus the top, a Jeep, and a Dodge that are all fighting for space in a 2 car garage... It's been a bit of a hassle. Other than that, I've just been working and checking in on the forum during lunch and late at night. Speaking of Where have you been.. we still gonna try and meet up this weekend when you go through Austin??... If I can get the carb thing all sorted out I still plan on taking the dodge down to College Station this weekend.

clint, ill be in austin on the 10th, had to bump things back a few days for the extra couple days of pay. plus, i didnt exactly like the idea of driving 17 hours on my birthday. not the way i like to celebrate! should be in austin by around 4 or 5 in the evening. maybe earlier if i can get mt butt out of bed early enough and get on the road. you will probably be back at work in good old dallas by then, its a thursday when im coming thru, but, i will be at the friday night cruise with dave in league city if you want to come down.

Joe: I too need fuse box & harness for 70. I did e-mail the 3 firms others suggested to you. They replied that they only have generic for mopar. I have adventurer with extra lites etc. SO.. how did you make out ? and which firm did you buy from ? Are you happy, or do you have to modify the lines ? I am more desperate for the harness up the s/w column & to a new turn signal switch.. appreciated Mr. Bob
