Turn Signal Works but not Hazard Flasher
Turn Signal Works but not Hazard Flasher
1968 D100 Pickup turn signals work fine, but the emergency "hazard" flasher is not working, even though a brand new capacitor is plugged in at the fuse panel. Could it be the switch behind the hazard flasher knob? If so, what is the part number and where might I find one?

Re: Turn Signal Works but not Hazard Flasher
They use two separate flashers.... the hazard switch should have a flasher of its own on the back of the hazard (4 way) switch. The one in the fuse block is for the turn signals. You should be able to get one of those just about anywhere. Just tell the guy it is for the HAZARD flashers because they are different than the turn signal. I think that the turn signal flasher has 2 prongs and the 4 way (Hazard) has 3 prongs (or vice versa). I just looked them up on Autozone.com and found them:

Re: Turn Signal Works but not Hazard Flasher
Jim,
The flasher unit on the back of the switch was totally missing. I popped one on and all is well.
Thank you so much.
