1965 Tail light problem, HELP!
I have been having a problem with the tail lights flashing every time i hit a bump or a pot hole in my 1965 W-200. I just upgraded to a 4 inch sealed beam tail light and the ground wires go to the frame not the bed. I dont think its a ground problem, maybe its a short some were. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions. Thank, Ray

That was my first thought. A simple adjustment of the switch.

It may be a loose connection at the firewall.

I checked the firewall conections and they are clean and tight, so i dont think its there. Im thinking it is a short somewere along the frame in the harness. Now i just have to get the shop cleaned up so i can get it in out of the snow to cralw under and check the harness.

Where did you get your new lights. I just fixed the grounding issue on all my running lights soldered a wire the the bulb housing then ran it to the battery no more problems for me.

Re: 1965 Tail light problem, HELP!
I got my new lights at a truck parts store. They have the same lights at my local O,rielly's aswell but it was cheeper to get them at the other store. The problem i have is not a ground issue, its like the power is cutting out. I wondering if te headlight switch would have anything to do with the problem? I have always had to mess with the headlight switch to get the dash lights to work. Thanks for the ideas, Ray

Do you have a ground strap connecting the box and frame?
I also installed a wire on each tail light housing and grounded
them to the truck frame.

All of the lights are grounded to the frame on this truck. I think it is a power loss problem. Would a bad head light switch have any thing to do with it? Thanks, Ray
