Blaster 2 coil

Post by Jim100 »

I know this has been covered probably many times but I need to hear it again. If I install a Blaster 2 coil with my electronic ignition can I remove/bypass the ballast resistor? Or is the ballast protecting the ignition box?
Thanks
Jim

Agreed.

I had just this discussion with Rick Ehrenberg, the tech editor from Mopar Action a few years ago.
He says the ignition box requires the requisite 7v the ballast provides, and will have a short life at 12v.
