Dash Knob Removal - How To?

I pulled the dash wiring harness out of my truck this week to inspect and refurbish
a bit. I wanted to pull out all the switches on the dash also, but can get past the
1st hurdle. I'm having a disagreement with the knobs, as they don't want to come
off the way I want them to come off. So before inflicting my will upon them (
which I know will result in something broken.. either them or me), I thought
I would ask how to remove them gracefully. I did not see any allen set screws
or clips / tangs to depress. So if anyone can shed some light on this my 71'
would greatly appreciate it. :Thumbsup

My Heat knob threads on so try turning them if they are pull knobs.

Otherswise I think they have set-screws.

My Defrost didn't seem to be either so maybe it's just pressed on....

Got ya, I did not read his post close enough.
Now removal of the knobs is easy on 69-71 models, starting from the drivers side headlight switch, pull the switch on with the other hand grab the switch and depress the button while pulling out on the knob, now you can remove it from the dash with a large standard screw driver.
On the right side of the dash is the hazard warning switch it just unsrews for removal.
On top of the hazard flasher is the wiper switch, use a small screw driver to release the knob and then unscrew the nut to remove.
Next to the wiper/hazard switches is the heater controls use a small size allen wrench to loosen the knobs.
If you have an indash radio now is the time to remove it.
Once the radio is removed use a 3/8 or 7/16" wrench to remove the 4 nuts on the back of the heater facing.
The only other part is the cigarette ligher, it just unscrews. Jim

One other thing I find is the knobs for the vent cables (ex. under the dash on the driver's side) It does not appear these come off the end of the cables, so
not sure how you would go about replacing these unless you can get the whole cable assembly.

Hi fellas. I got the dash out of my 61. one knob/switch remains in it. It is labeled "B" and appears to be electrical. i depressed the push button on the top of the switch and worked the switch back and forth but the knob/rod assembly will not separate from the switch body. any ideas? Do not wish to damage it so I figured I'd ask before i damage something.

"B" is for the Blower motor.
