Pertronix install

Hello all,
I just installed a Pertronix unit and coil. Some of you recommend upgrading to electronic alternator and voltage regulator. It runs fine as it is, What is the reason for the upgrade, and what are the parts and steps necessary?

The biggest plus is getting rid of points and is the main advantage
and better preformace for a longer time.
Points degrade from the time they are installed and will give lower
preformance as they degrade, unless you mantain them by going
in and fileing their surface clean, re-gaping them and reset dewl.
With brakerless system like Pertronixs you never have to do this, the signal stays nice and clean to the plugs; cap, rotor and plugs will also last longer.

Since you have it installed, you don't need instruction there since it works, but here are some miner up grades that should be done.
If you are still using the ballast resitor I would up grade to a later type
used 70 and up on mopars and would also up grade the voltage regulator
to a electronic type (Jegs sells one for 19.99 and you will not need to
change your alt, fits your wires, Jegs part number 312-p3690732, ballast is 312-p6206436
and sells though Jegs for 4.49, Jegs number is 800-345-4545 or jegs.com)

You can also run a hotter coil and 8mm wires for even better preformace.

Thanks Jeff,
I will upgrade with the parts you suggested. Already have a Pertronix coil and Summit wires.
