turn signal switch honks the horn

Post by PrairieDog »

Can anyone save me some time on this one? All the turn signals, brake lights, 4 way flashers, headlights and tail lights work ok. When I move the turn signal lever for left or right signal the horn honks. This is a 69 D100 /6.

Sounds like you have a chaffed ground wire in the signal switch or dirt making a connection across the terminals of the switch. You'll have to remove the wheel and have a look at the switch.

might also look at the routing of your horn wire thru the column. sounds like you might have pinched it during installation.
