Tach wiring?

Post by centralwildcat »

Hey all, I wanted to wire up my later style HD tach on my 69 d200, with the 383. So there is one wire that says "ignition", and the other says "trigger"...from what ya'll have said the "trigger" goes to the coil... I can handle that( Just run a wire to the coil, right??)
But I wanted to know where do I hook to the igintion? The little wire that is there already is a male plug, so I am assuming that on the harness that goes to the igition, there must be a female coming off.... anyone know for sure? Suggestions??? Thanks, mattc

neg side of coil--- trigger

ing to
any switched key power will work, such as the buss bar
on the back of the alt gauge...

If this does not work (above) then ether the
tack needs the sender box or is bad.

aftermarket tacks color code is:
green to neg side coil
red to switch power
black ground
white dash lights
