Anyone ever put in an aftermarket AC unit?

I'm looking to put in an AC unit in my 71, with a 318. It has the heater but no AC. It gets to over a 100 during the summer here in the california central valley. Im looking into a few systems offered but I wanted to run by you guys to bsee what you think about these after market AC's for custom rigs.

I put a Vintage Air unit in my '73 D100, but it cost around $1000 before I was finished. It was all built-in, as I wanted it to look somewhat stock. Underdash VA units were less expensive.

That $599 price is cheap, but I wonder if the brackets are for a small block Chevy. The capacity of the unit might also be marginal.

Vintage Air is producing the old Mark IV, under-dash units again. These look great, are easy to install, and put out lots of cold air. We put one in my 69, W200 and did it in about 1 day. I called Vintage Air and they put together a kit with everything we needed for the install.
I believe the total price, two years ago, was about $875.00. The best thing about the Mark IV unit is that it is all the incab stuff is in the unit. No ductwork or controls to change out or modify. I highly reecommend the Vintage Air unit.

This is a link for their trimline model and it complete but like you said the bracket for the compressor is a no go but I emailed them about it and this is what he said

"if you can get your hands on a factory york compressor bracket we have a york to sanden
adapter bracket that would not cost extra. "

No my question for you guys is where the heck can I get my hands around one of these bad boys? Pick'n'pull time for sure but what rigs am I looking for? Thanks for any help fellas!
