65 D200 8 lug.

Questions

Is the backspace 3.75 on these?

Bolt pattern interchanges w/ ?

Widest/tallest rim/tire combo for front?

Widest/tallest rim/tire combo for back?

The truck currently has 16.5 LT's on wagon wheel white spokes. I need to get away from the 16.5, they are costly and harder to find.
Any suggestions on what I should be looking at? Like 16" rims or what?
Better to seek advice from those of you that have been down this road than to venture alone onto the highway! Any and all thoughts appreciated!

16x8 up front with a 245/75/16 is about the biggest youll get without rubbing. on mine i have 33x12.5's out back without rubbing on 10" wide rims. the most common thing is the 235/85/16 on all four corners.

Great answer Trey, now, what about 8 lug bolt pattern. Ferd? Chebbie? Old style or what? Any current production stuff work?

That's what the salesman at Discount Tire told me, but I learned along time ago when dealing with anything Mopar you better ask lots of questions! I have a chance to pick up 4 take offs from an 04 Chebbie, but am not sure of the backspacing on these.

Yes, I understood. The backspacing is critical on these. No more than 3.75" for the front rims.

I'm not sure what fits what but I do know the newer fords are metric and don't interchange. Also some of the centers are smaller and won't fit over the hub.

any pre 90's 8 lug will work on aftermarket wheels, which is what i was referring to. for factory wheels, ford and dodge will cross, the chevy is too small on the hub hole to work. i have only had probs with after market wheels and tie rod clearence. most wheels are backspaced evenly, if you get an 8" wheel, they have 4" of back space. so you have to be sure to ask, and or specify the backspace you need. the ones i have at the house were 7" off the shelf white wagon spokes. they had 4" of back spacing, with a 7.5 tire, they rubbed the tie rod just enough to leave a mark. a 6.5 tire would have cleared.
