Hello, Relatively new to the site, was wondering where to start looking for a master cylinder and right hand thread wheel studs for my '61 D-100. :thinking I would like to put a set of aluminum wheels I have on there to dress her up a little bit. There is a Napa, Auto Zone and Advance Auto Parts here in Dade City. Not sure if this stuff is still available over the counter anymore. Thanks in advance for any help.

Should not be a problem for the stores listed to find what you
need, but they may just have to crack open a book to
find them, if the kid behind the counter can't find what you
need, look for a older guy that will work with you. New masters are still being made and so are wheel
studs.

Trey, you might want to know that I tried Autozone for new
drums, no luck~on back order for ever, NAPA too~not in book
for D100 (listings for a lot of bigger trucks and the A100,
but not the fronts on the D100 (2 1/4shoex11"))
Did find new front drums though a differant supply house
that does brake parts only though..........

When we swapped the leftd out on my car we got the studs from the dealer. Just another option to consider.

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestions. Yes, I know about avoiding the kid with the "It's not in the computer" answer. I usually tell them to get off the book they are standing on to see over the counter that's probably were my parts are listed.

Don't forget that the front hub/drum wheel studs are
swedged in place, you can get away without doing that
on the cars, but not on the trucks since the drum is
held to the back of the hub and then there are those pesky
rear drums on the early splined axles that will have to be
removed :dance assuming you 8.75 rear axle is stock to
the truck.

Yes, It still has the tapered axle shafts in the back I have a puller that my dad used on his Savoy wagon, I replaced the rear on my Belvedere with an A body unit for tire clearance. What do you mean with the front being swedged? Are they press fit and then locked/wedged in place somehow? I do have access to a press from a couple of different sources. THanks again for the info.

Yes, the front studs are press fit with a small piece of metal in the hole,
since the drums fit to back side of the hub on the trucks and
held by the studs to the hub (unlike the cars
that had drums to the front side of the hub) there is no way to get around this, you can't just bang them in with a big hammer and expect them to
hold right, or install right.
Sounds like your set on the rears since the studs are in the drums on the
rear, there also press fit on the rear since there is a risk of drum damage
if installed with a hammer.
