I’m finally re installing my parking brake lever and cable on my 70 1/2 ton after a full restoration.
For some reason I can’t find the photos I took of the handbrake lever before I disassembled it and restored the parts.
Can anyone help me out with a photo or description showing where this long spring goes? I’m pretty sure the 90 degree end goes to the bolt that holds the lever bracket to the firewall, but I want to install it correctly so that I don’t have to pull it out and correct it if I’m wrong.
Cheers!

Re: Hand brake spring
Only place I remember a spring is the return to resting position under truck where cable join for rear axle.
My truck is younger than me.

Re: Hand brake spring
I just looked at mine and there is no spring or even a place for one that I can see.fireguyfire wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 12:21 pmI’m finally re installing my parking brake lever and cable on my 70 1/2 ton after a full restoration.

I’m glad this topic came up though. Mine was missing the cotter pin that holds the 5/16 pin from falling out on the end of the cable.
