Early '65 D100 Utiline rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders
I have an early first gen 1965 D100.
I am looking to buy rear shoes and looking on Rock Auto. I see that there is a difference in the '64 and '65 rear shoes and wheel cylinders.
Since mine is the '65 first gen is it more likely to be the 1964 style of shoes and cylinders, than the later '65-'71 listed?
Thanks for your help

Yes, probably.
And, "first gen" is not a term used in the sweptline era. Early 65 vs late 65 is the common descriptor for that mid yr change. There are multiple yrs that significant changes were made and trying to designate them with "gen" would become extremely convoluted and difficult.

Is there anywhere I could get information that the early 65 were the old style? As shipping to Canada is bad enough, but returns are crazy.PwrWgnDrvr wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 11:44 amYes, probably.

Does it have tapered axles? MEANING...A bolt holding the brake drums on. Craig

Craig means a "nut", not "bolt", holding them on.my5thmopar wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 7:38 pmDoes it have tapered axles? MEANING...A bolt holding the brake drums on. Craig

If you mean a nut holding the drum on like my flathead trucks, where you have to use a hub puller to remove the brake drums off the tapered axle.PwrWgnDrvr wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 10:33 pmCraig means a "nut", not "bolt", holding them on.my5thmopar wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 7:38 pmDoes it have tapered axles? This truck the drums just pull off by hand when the wheel is removed.

I think you would want the parts for a 65. The early 65 trucks had the non tapered axle and the 64 trucks did not.
