Help with bump steer
When I purchased my 68 it was already lowered. Nit sure how they did it. I have 4 leafs up front. It runs fine, except when I hit a bump and I have to tey ro keep it in my lane. Is there a bump steer kit for these years? I was looking at trying to get a shock dampner on it like Jeeps have. I did see a write up on people cutting their pitmen are, will that help? Any asdvice to make it safer. Thanks!

Is the drag link level? I don't know about cutting a pitman arm but whatever it takes to restore original geometry

You want a line between the Pitman arm pivot axes at 90° to the drag link axis when the steering is centered at its usual ride height.

It's probably just a guess what they did. Are there drop blocks, dropped tie rods, caster shims, dropped axle? Way too many variables without. photos. I don't have issues with my correctly installed setup.

I just noticed I never responded to this, sorry! So I found out its a drop axle from a 47 Ford. It does have drop tie rod ends as well. I had it jacked up today any everything seemed tight, no wheel wobble, etc. The leafs are worn out. I am looking at lowering leafs or maybe just replacing the bushings. It is not a dropped axle from a 47' Ford. ONLY your tie rod ends were made for 47' to 64' Ford. Again, you have an OEM Dodge dropped axle that was dropped further by someone. The typical (additional) drop made in the modification is 3". This is a fairly common modification and any bump steer is easily able to be removed.
