I got a 65’ D100 with the non-tapered axle. The shoes were wore out and dug the robots into the drum. I have looked everywhere and can’t find a new replacement drum. I got some at Napa that fit fine besides the rub against the backing plate.
Does anybody know of a rear drum that will fit??

Did you measure both drums to figure out what’s rubbing? Take both back to Napa and have them measure and throw it on their brake lathe. Might just need the edge cut. Craig

The drum has a channel around it that the backing plate runs in between. The edge of the backing plate sticks out over a 1/4 to far into that channel.my5thmopar wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 7:10 pmDid you measure both drums to figure out what’s rubbing? Sounds like wrong drum. That’s why I suggested you bring the old one to the store. No telling what’s been changed over the years. Might have cbody drums on it or who knows what.

Bud/Adam Thorp have new rear drums. They post on here from time to time. They didn't post a price.

Re: Rear drum replacement part#
If you can find a 80-93 truck rear axle with good backing plates, swap them out and get a set of 80-84 drums 11" x 2.5". They will have the 4.5" bolt pattern and will bolt right on your 8.75. Then you can buy brake parts at any auto store and not have to deal with the old stuff and have bigger brakes
85 and up will have 5.5" bolt pattern.
