Master cylinder swap to disc brakes

Post by Volksnut »

I'm swapping to disc brakes in front and want to change the master cylinder to a later style with dual reservoir but keep it manual brakes. What year is everyone using with the same 4 bolt mount.

Whose brake "kit" and caliper assembly are you planning to use and what bore size and model do they recommend? I have (2) available that I used on mine very briefly which were of the year and model recommended by "Scarebird". The 2nd was purchased because I thought I had a bad master on the 1st one. That was not the case. These are identical and are 1.032" bore size and have maybe 100 miles on them. I switched to a 15/16" bore size to get more line pressure. You can have either of these (free of charge), you'd just need to pay for shipping. PM me here if you're interested.

Funny you should ask...if I just read the instructions (Scarebird) it recommends a 1972 D100 master of course. If you have one for the disc brake I'll take it. PM sent....i think I did it right :)
