Alternative steering cylinder?

Post by WD »

“She who thinks she must be obeyed” thinks she wants the truck swapped back to power assist. I think the current set up, good kingpins and steering box full of white marine grease, works fine.

I’m thinking a quick disconnect stand alone pump, hoses, cylinder for a tractor “might” work. As long as when, not if, it fails I can yank the cylinder and still drive it home. Tractor cylinders are inexpensive, durable if USA made (not Northern Tool junk), operate smoothly...

Worth the hassle?
I say no, but, awful lot of tractor cylinders doing just that in my area...
If I didn't build it, it ain't mine.

1949 Dodge B1B-108; 1969 D100-128; 72 Super Beetle; and a bunch of others...
