Power Steering Hoses

Post by drtkwsk13 »

I am in the process of have installing new king pins, tie rods and having my control valve and power cylinder rebuilt for my power steering setup. I also noticed my hoses are cracked and what better time to replace them. Only problem is i cant find them anywhere and have been to 2 hydraulic shops to have them made but with out luck. Has anyone been through this and if so what did you do that worked? :banghead My truck is a 68 D200 btw. Thanks!

I bought everything from PSC Motorsports and made my own for the 70. I spent about $250. I bought mostly Weatherhead screw on compression. Not a drop of fluid leaking. I think I bought an extra fitting for Federal and Saginaw pump since I wasn't sure whih one I was going to use. I also bought stuff for my PSC steering conversion on the 64. I might have got the stuff mixed upor bought extras. but get their catalog. This will give you a head start.
Weatherhead H10406-250R #6 (3/8) High Pressure Hose(sold by the ft) PSC-HA2-6HOSE 20ft
Weatherhead H10406N-606 #6 Straight Field Serviceable Fitting PSC-HA2-6STR 5ea
Weatherhead H10406N-686 #6 45° Field Serviceable Fitting PSC-HA2-645 2ea
PSC Motorsports 5/8-18 x #6 JIC adapter - PSC-SF04 5ea

Awesome, thank you. I did find a local hydraulic shop that said they could do it for $225.00. I will see if there are any other options but i think that is the route i will go. I appreciate your help.

Local hyd. shop made mine, seems like $100., but that was maybe 7-8 years ago. He made my A.C. Hoses as well. No leaks. Good luck.

Well I finally had a local shop make up some hoses. $211.00 with new rubber coated clamps. I have searched pst threads but have seen contradicting post as to where the connections should be made. I would appreciate if someone could help explain what hoses land where. My truck is a 68 d200 if it makes a difference. Thanks.
