New guy, with IFS and other questions.

Post by JTD »

Hello.

I'm Jon. I'm from Waco Texas.

Have made a deal with a guy, for either a 65 or 66 Utiline.

D100, 318LA, 2V WW Stromburg, 4 speed granny, 8' bed. Bucket seats, console, fancy steering wheel, 6 round gauges, one a sun tach, radio, some kind of grab bar on the passengers dash.

It is technically a one owner truck, his brother bought it new.

So, I have been reading up on disk brakes, and IFS. I'm really liking the later model half ton frame clip graph.

Question, is a 89 ram charger, the same in the front as a half ton truck?

I'm sure that answers and comments to this thread, will spawn more questions.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Jon.

It should be the same. The wheel lug pattern was larger than what will be on the 65 or 66. You could swap rear axles or convert the RC to the smaller bolt circle. Most Ramchargers are 4wd.

Thanks, I thought is should be, and digging around online seemed to confirm that.

The ramcharger in looking at, is 2 wd. Long story,it has been sitting since 09. Only has 39,000 and change.

I was thinking about changing the rear axel also. Having a whole updated driveline.

Thanks
