Return Spring for brake pedal
Does any one know if the brake pedal has a spring on it , mine is a 67 D-100 pick-up . when I bought it, it never had one. And does anyone have a picture where it might be attached to. Thanks Grain Buyer .

Re: Return Spring for brake pedal
I was going to put my spring back on but the new brake booster is plenty to push the pedal back in contact with the brake light switch. Plus, what a pain in the buttoosky to put back on - I tried and tried but gave up exhausted. So as soon as I figured I could live without it, it went into a drawer. I should probably clean it up and put it in the glovebox.

Re: Return Spring for brake pedal
When I first bought my truck it had a spring but didn't want to come up, had to put my foot under it to
pull it. I pulled the long bolt that holds the pedal in place. Cleaned all the parts up, lubed them and then
reinstalled. It now pops right back into position.

Re: Return Spring for brake pedal
Installing spring was a bear until I pre-stretched it off the vehicle and placed a washer between each coil until you get to the easy installation length. After installation, press on the pedal slightly and remove the washers easily....

Re: Return Spring for brake pedal
what a great example of breaking up a larger difficult project into a manageable series of smaller ones.
how did you pre-stretch it?

Stretched it by one end in the vise and a screwdriver through the other loop
