Removing Brake Drums on a '61

Post by Snowdog »

Brothers and Sisters...

I'm looking to remove the front drums from my '61.

I've removed drum brakes before, however, I'm checking in to see if there's a procedure that works best, for this particular model.

Even in seeing the Left-Hand Threads on the driver's-side wheel bolts, I know that this truck has some unique parts.

Any advice is appreciated.

Remove wheel,Tire. Back brakes off in case drum extremely worn. Remove cap, cotter pin , nut and bearing and pull off. :salut
Jack up and block it up first.

The hub comes off with the drum attached by the swedged in lugs. Gotta remove those in order to separate hub from drum. More fun.... :dance
