1961 D300 column difference

I have noticed that 61 D300 trucks have some differences over later trucks. (I dont know what year it changed) the latest is that the 61 steering column is about 1.125" lower than later trucks. The columns are actually shorter. I was wondering if that is true in the 100 and 200 trucks also. I kinda like the wheel lower maybe other people didn't so they raised it?
