1968 D100 aftermarket brake drums

Can you buy these at any auto parts locations?
What do you all do?

Drums are one of those sought after parts that I think you have to find in a junkyard. I don't know if other vehicles have some that will fit.
Be thankful that you don't have a 6 lug W300.

The ones listed at Rockauto are not correct? They seem to have a front and back listed?

May fit non finned only. I always thought the straight axle D100 series drums were all the same from '66-71 or maybe '68 -71.
My '71 D100 has the huge finned drums...11 x 2.25 shoe which is the same for '68 and '71 with a 318.

finned drums are aftermarket car drums. The factory D100 drums are non finned.

I believe the mid '65 through '68 D100 rear drums are the same.
The '69-'71 rear drums were slightly smaller in diameter. Last I
knew, the '69-'71 rear drums were still available on the aftermarket.

As Bud points out, none of the Sweptlines were originally equipped
with a finned style rear drum. I do not know if the finned drums
are compatible with the factory Sweptline flanged axle and backing
plates.

As for front D100 drums.... they were the same from '59-'71.

Jim, Did you order one? Regards to fins, who cares if it fits? If the 65-68 are so hard to find, then change the backing plates to a C-body or 69-71 D100. I have a 68 New Yorker diff and it has 11x2.5 on it. Anybody know the spec on the 65-68 and the 69-71. I've misplaced my manual or I could look it up. Craig

I did not order any. I just looked them up out of curiosity and to try and help with the original question. But I still wonder if Rockauto is listing them incorrectly? Or they don't really have them if you actually try to buy them?

i see a lot of available listings for this centric part no. 123.63005
should fit 1968 according to the websites, but maybe they're wrong or out of stock.

I'd like to add that the flanged axles started showing up on early '65 D100s.
I'm not sure if all early '65s had them or not. I cannot confirm whether or not Dodge
made a complete switch from the tapered axle to the flanged axle at the end of the
'64 model year.

I went back through this thread and no where that I could see does it mention front drums or rear drums? Rear drums are available through regular parts stores. My front drums are not available in the aftermarket. They are the 11 x 2.25 and are finned and original.A 1971 Dodge 2wd d100 with a 318. Rockauto lists front drums for a '68, but are not finned and fit 1959-69.

My ‘68 the front and rear drums are identical. From what I’ve read and heard, towards the end of the model year that’s not uncommon.

D100 front brakes should be 2.5 shoe, rear should be 2 inch shoe, brake drum on the rear should be not as deep on the rear 65 to 68; drums are both 11 inch. 69 to 71 should use a 10 inch drum on the rear (2.5 shoe), 11 on the front
