Can someone with parts books tell me if the input-side and control valve parts for a D300 factory p/s install are the same as a D200? There's a D300 setup on ebay, and I've been looking for the highlighted parts below to replace worn out pieces in my D200 power steering. They sure look the same as the D300 pieces?

They are similar but no. There are obvious external differences with the drag-link and mounting points also, the control valve spool is cone shaped where the 100 and 200's can go either way. With the parts you have highlighted I actually don't know. A competent machine shop could probably reproduce them. If you look in the non member for sale section there is a link to D300-500 setup on eBay that will allow you to compare some parts.

Yeah, it was your eBay link that got me thinking, but according to Bud they're not the same at all.

The sleeve housing looks like a forging, most likely due to the stresses involved. Straightline Steering has my parts and says they can't be salvaged, even with sleeving. I guess I'll keep looking.

Can you swap an entire P/S unit from a D300 to 200/100?

Are the differences because of frames not being identical?

On the ones (D100 and 200) that I've worked with the triangular piece the bolts pass through have been welded to the outer sleeve. powerwagon54 mentioned in a post that that end appeared to him to be the same or at least very similar to the bigger trucks. I'm not sure what the problem is but I'm positive you could have the outer sleeve bushed if its a wear/ clearance problem. There isn't much to the inside sleeve it just slides back and forth mostly. The ball stud is a pretty solid piece as in solid steel. The spring keeps the ball stud pressed toward the rear after assembly. There are no seals in this area and the pin can be replaced with a roll-pin.

The larger trucks use different drag-links and the pitman arm is longer. I think the hoses are longer going down to the hydraulic ram also. Those trucks are taller after all. The biggest thing I see is the drag-link. It turns out toward the left tire a bunch. I guess the front axles are wider.

I'm not sure the 300 p/s is the same as the 500. I do know absolutely that the 300 steering gear box is different than all other models as is the W300 drag link.

d100, D200 and D300 use the same steering box but the d300 PS set up is a bit different. the W300 frame stamping and steering box is totally different than D300. W300 uses the steering boxes used in the 400 series and up trucks.
