Crossmember
I am in the process of modifying my frame to put a magnum 360 and a 4500 in my 67 power wagon. I plan on cutting the center out of the bell housing crossmember and adding a piece lower so that I still get the frame support at that area. From measurements that I have made, I will need to make a new crosspiece just below the existing member. Someone out there done this and can give me advice?

Re: Crossmember
There is a factory piece made for that. Basically a piece of channel iron bent to the shape and bolted in. Sorry, no pics here :(

Re: Crossmember
The slant six automatic used that setup. I have one I don't need.

Re: Crossmember
Spanner used to go from standard to auto. You have to cut the Bell H. support.

Re: Crossmember
Thanks for the pic, in all my travels, automatic sweptlines are very rare in 68 and earlier trucks. I have not had one to part out or own, just standards. This one will still be a standard, but of a different type. I would like to buy one in Canada if I can, a lot cheaper that way when it comes to the border and shipping.

Re: Crossmember
they use 2 from the factory. One in front and one in the rear of the crossmember stubs.

Re: Crossmember
He's graciously going to send me the one he has. Not too difficult to make the second one out of angle iron. Thanks all.
